the InKARMAtion

The young artist Karina Mack creates, with her series of paintings “InKARMAtion,” a dynamic tension between the mystical and the real, building bridges between the past and the present, and thus inviting viewers on an artistic journey of discovery between the visible and the invisible.

Exclusively exhibited at the Neues Kunstmuseum Tübingen

At the center of her exhibition is the 22-part series of paintings “The Major Arcana.” The Latin word arcanum means “secret” and derives from arca, meaning “chest” or “box.” What lies within a box is invisible from the outside—and therefore hidden. The term “Major Arcana” refers to the 22 trump cards of the Tarot deck. Originally, Tarot was merely a card game; it was not until the 18th century that its symbolism and mystique began to be used by card readers as a means of glimpsing the future.

Extension of the series "InKARMAtion – The Major Arcana"

The seven large-format canvases form an extension of the 22-part Tarot series. They deepen its symbolic language and illustrate themes that originated before and during the creation of the series – encounters with symbols, archetypal images, and spiritual principles. Each work acts like an echo from the series, highlighting a specific experience or insight.
