This work is based on the Tarot card “The Hanged Man” and explores the conscious act of surrender required to gain new understanding. In the background, a historical map refers to the greater cosmic order into which humankind is interwoven.

At the center floats a stylized peace symbol reminiscent of the World Tree or the cosmic axis – a metaphor for the connection between heaven and earth, as well as for inner maturation. The hanging, many-eyed ribbons represent expanded perception, insight, and the shift in perspective initiated by the Hanged Man.

The hand gestures allude to voluntary surrender and the conscious release of control, while the golden aura symbolizes enlightenment and the breaking open of old beliefs. Red lines traverse the composition like threads of fate, connecting all elements within the work.

The number 12, the zodiac sign Pisces, the planet Neptune, and the rune Algiz stand for protection, transformation, dissolution of the ego, and unity with the greater whole.
